STUDIO LOCATION:
All classes are held at the Washington Park Community Center, located at the bottom of College Hill in Eugene. From downtown, take Willamette to 18th. Take a right on 18th and a left on Washington. Travel south two blocks to 20th Ave. and Washington. The Community Center is on your left, in front of a park with playground, ballparks and tennis courts. The Community Center has a large entry room for relaxing in before and after classes, or for waiting for a child during his/her class

PRE-REGISTRATION:
Required to ensure a place in class. Registration in current classes does not guarantee a space in upcoming sessions. Full tuition sent with registration form or registering at the sparkplugdance.org website using a secure paypal account is preferred. Please register at least one week prior to the beginning of the session. Classes without sufficient enrollment will be cancelled.

REFUNDS:
No Refunds given after the third week of the session during fall/winter/spring sessions. We are unable to issue refunds during the shorter summer sessions. If you request a refund, a $10.00 processing fee will be levied.

MAKE-UP POLICY:
You may make up missed classes in a comparable class during the current session.  We are unable to offer refunds for missed classes or rollover make-ups into future sessions.

Newborns-36 months may make up missed classes at any of our parent/caregiver classes.  Older students may attend any age-compatible class as a make-up.  Please check the current schedule at www.sparkplugdance.org to ensure the class you wish to attend is running.  Please contact us if you have any question about which class would be appropriate for a make-up.

SLIDING-SCALE:
Our sliding scale opens the door to dance for a wider array of families, and enables folks of differing means to enjoy quality dance education. We rely on the honor system to ensure that families pay what they can for classes. To support the longevity of the Sparkplug Dance program, it's essential that those that can pay the higher end of the sliding scale do so.

SIBLING DISCOUNT:
To support family participation, we offer a 25% sibling discount for children from the same family in the program.

FINANCIAL AID:
Scholarships are awarded based on financial need. A limited number of scholarships are granted each term on a first-come, first-served basis. You must re-apply for each term in which you wish to be considered for a scholarship. Scholarship applications are downloadable on the registration page.

CLOSURES:
Snow Closures: Sparkplug Dance classes will be cancelled when 4J School District has snow closures, and will be rescheduled.

DROP INS:
Siblings or friends may attend on a one time, case-by-case, space available basis for a $14.00 drop-in fee, at the discretion of the teacher. No drop ins on parent observation days.

New to Sparkplug? Come see what we do!  Newborn-36 month + caregivers are welcome to participate in one free trial class.  Kids 3 years and up are welcome to observe a class before registering.  Please call or email to let us know you're coming.

CLOTHING:
Please dress children in comfortable play clothes (pants preferable to dresses or skirts), with bare feet.

IN CASE OF ILLNESS:

With cold and flu season upon us, we ask caregivers for help reducing the spread of illness.  Please do not come to dance class if either you or your child is experiencing: coughs, fever, sore throat, body aches, headache, vomiting, intestinal upset, green or thick mucus discharge.  We're happy to provide make-up class slips for folks with such symptoms.  In the studio, we ask everyone to take preventative measures such as washing hands before and after dancing, before snack, etc.

SPECIAL NEEDS:
If your child has a medical issue, such as a life-threatening allergy, or a cognitive, ASD/sensoral processing, visual or hearing disability, we encourage you to share the information with your dance teacher. Sparkplug Dance is dedicated to accessibility, so there is no child who will be turned away or treated differently. On the contrary, if our trained staff can work with you, your child will be better served.

VISITING:
For youth classes (ages 3 and up), caregivers are invited to observe class on the last day of the session during shorter summer sessions, and on weeks 5 and 10 during the school year. A waiting area is provided outside of class during non-visiting days. With classes for 3/4s and 4/5s, if your child is uncomfortable with being separate from you, you may participate in the class until he or she is ready for independence. We will ask you for emergency information so that you may leave the premises during your child's class if you wish. Join us for visiting weeks -- ask your teacher for dates.
